SI Group Passes the Century Mark

Celebrating 100 Years Schenectady International announces a new name as it kicks off its centennial year celebrations.

At an address to employees on April 10, CEO and chairman of the Board Wallace A. Graham announced that the name of the company will change to SI Group with a revamped trademarked logo.

The change represents the fourth evolution in names the company has had in its century of business. Started as the Schenectady Varnish Works in 1906 by W. Howard Wright, SI Group today operates four divisions across more than 20 locations in 14 countries. read more

Green Fuel Project

SI Group plans to construct a green fuel boiler at the Rotterdam Junction facility.

The renewable energy project, slated to begin within a few months, is aimed at gaining energy efficiency in light of escalating utility costs.

The multimillion dollar project is made possible by a grant from NYSERDA for $1million. read more
